Bio and Contact
I was born and raised in the Interior of British Columbia. By the time I was twelve years old, I was sewing my own clothing - by sixteen I was making or reconstructing most of the clothing I was wearing. In order to have unique pieces, I found vintage items in second hand shops and then reconstructed them to fit me. I learned pattern drafting in high school when I was chosen to take part in a self directed program of my choosing.
In my twenties, I studied English Literature and Fine Arts, then assisted in theatre on a number of projects. I moved to Japan for three years and was inspired by the love of design found in all aspects of Japanese life.
When I returned to Canada, I studied Fashion and worked as a Costume Designer for several short films, theatre productions and a TV Series. I switched to Creature FX and have continued to make sculptural costumes ever since.
In 2005 I started my accessory line and have sold my work to clients all over North America, Europe and Asia.
Currently I am working in two areas in Film - Makeup, as a MUFX artist/Lead Costumer for various creature and animal suits, and Costume, where I primarily work as a Key Specialty Costumer working on superheroes and sculptural builds.
